About the event

"For decades, MSA & Circus Arts, located in the Bucktown neighborhood of Chicago, has been bringing the magic of circus to Chicagoans. Offering world-class training in a variety of disciplines, shows, and youth camps, MSA has been a staple for kids and families in the Midwest to pursue dreams of circus, sports acro, gymnastics, as well as build a foundation in the performance arts. This family operated non-profit has created a community rooted in self-expression and encouragement that is truly a joy to be a part of.

My story with MSA started on a whim. I have no relevant background, I signed up “just to try it”- hoping to get a fun fitness experience and maybe learn to do a flip. Instead, I fell in love with the circus arts, as well as the warm and encouraging community I found at MSA. Even the busy professional artists were always willing to lend a helping hand during open gym and teach me a new trick, or offer advice on my circus journey. MSA has supported my, and many others, passion for the circus arts. You can see how learning these skills builds confidence & self-esteem in children and adults alike.

Circus facilities like MSA are few and far between, so on this Giving Tuesday I am asking our community to reach out and share, and help raise some funds to help support MSA & the circus community. The donations we receive will benefit our online platform, Circus on Demand- a series of free, professionally produced courses that allow everyone to access circus training during this time, as well as the professional artists, our featured trainers, who have suffered job loss due to COVID-19 pandemic by providing them financial support as well as aid our production costs expanding our library to continue to support aspiring artists with accessible quality training.

You can help support the circus arts, donate here
